Job Description:
* Provide professional and comprehensive casework to children and young people appropriate to experience and capabilities.
* Maintain high professional standards and good knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation, and practice methods.
* Ensure provision of quality services integrating government and local initiatives, including Working Together and Child Protection procedures.
* Offer efficient and effective services to children, young people, and their families, with professional assessment of their needs.
* Investigate, evaluate, and analyze case information, demonstrating clarity of assessment, reliability, evidence-based conclusions, and realistic action plans. Ensure thorough recording of practice.
* Develop holistic practice considering the individual’s immediate and extended social circles and overall development needs.
* Implement equal opportunities good practice, adhering to the Council Policy and promoting it within the team and organization.
* Ensure case management complies with statutory requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
* Prepare and submit reports, including statements and care plans for care proceedings in courts.
* Keep the Assistant/Team Manager informed of workload issues and seek advice when necessary.
* Act as duty worker when appropriate, responding to queries and issues.
* Use ICT to maintain accurate case records and report on performance data.
* Liaise proactively with other agencies, organizations, parents, and carers.
* Promote involvement of young service users and families in service development.
* Attend conferences, reviews, and court sessions, presenting the Council’s plans and opinions professionally.
* Promote equality, treating everyone with fairness and dignity.
* Comply with health and safety policies, procedures, and rules, ensuring safety for self and others.
* Adhere to the standards in the WBC competency framework and relevant procedures.
