Recovery area within theatres providing and maintaining a high standard of care, ensuring the safe recovery for patients following anaesthetic and surgical intervention.
1. To work within a team, nurses/operating department practitioners to achieve the safe recovery of patients post anaesthesia/ surgical intervention.
2. To work through the recovery competency framework and keep up to date with all essential/ mandatory training and complete rotations through all areas of recovery.
3. To establish excellent working relationships with all service users and actively encourage and promote joint working in the pursuit of continuous service improvement.
4. To be a role model and mentor to new learners, staff, student nurses and student operating department practitioners. Maintain 5-star patient care and adhere to trust 'ACE' behavioural standards.
5. To work on behalf of the recovery team leads to coordinate the recovery area, supervise delegation, and review performance.
