Description
Elekta Groups' direct procurement function operates across four main sites situated in the UK, Netherlands, Sweden and China.
The Procurement function is structured as a matrix organisation with centralised leadership for Direct Purchasing, Indirect Purchasing, Supplier Development and Quality, Process and Systems, and local management in each region for direct and indirect material.
The purpose of this role is to manage direct material spend across a number of subcategories. The Procurement Manager focuses on providing procurement best‑practice techniques from early in the product development lifecycle to ensure Elekta’s future supply chain utilises the best supplier partners and capabilities, achieving optimal total cost of ownership for Elekta and its customers. The PM works closely with key business stakeholders to prioritise securing supply, quality and cost in production materials and development projects. For strategic suppliers, responsibilities include supplier contract execution, overall performance and relationship ownership, new product and transfer project localisation, price negotiation and engineering change orders, supplier/category strategies, and point‑of‑escalation for critical shortages, supply‑risk management and supplier resilience (activities typically undertaken by Tactical Procurement Managers). Elekta has a separate team responsible for materials planning and purchasing, so planning and raising purchase orders is not a significant part of this role, though it may be required occasionally.
