Who are we?
Beyond the Wire is a not-for-profit organisation that helps the armed forces community navigate the unique and complex challenges of military bereavement. What do WE need?
We need a Content Curator – what does that even mean?

If you are a detail-oriented individual with a love for curating high-quality content, this is the perfect opportunity for you! You might even be a military spouse or partner who already gets some of the challenges of those whose lives we seek to improve.
What will YOU be doing?
Like us, you’ll probably be juggling family or caring commitments, school runs, dog walks, supermarket runs, other projects and a busy life! But for 15 hours a week, (so you can fit in all the other stuff), you can find an escape in doing something to make the world a better place.
You’d need to:
* Research and source new content to add to the Bereavement Hub (the first of its kind in the UK).
* Organise and categorise content to ensure easy access and navigation for bereaved families, friends, colleagues, researchers and professionals

Who are YOU?
This job role includes a bit of everything, but you’ll need to be committed to our aims, and share our values, be organised, forthright, brave and self-motivated. You’ll be a good communicator and up for a laugh, but you’ll also be kind and empathetic.
In return, you can design much of your workload to fit around your life and you get to work with a determined, genuine and invigorating team with a keen sense of purpose to support those who have faced, or who may be facing one of the hardest of life’s challenges. You’ll prefer to work part-time or flexibly and may well be part of the military community already.
* You might have website content management experience, and you’ll definitely have good administrative skills.
* You might already have helped to develop a portal or hub before, and you may have worked in the third sector before.
* Above all, you’ll need to be happy to work online and you will already have your own space/IT set up to do so.
* Salesforces and WordPress are a breeze for you!
A little more about our mission
Experiences of bereavement connected to military service vary widely from good and supportive to poor, with life changing and enduring consequences for armed forces families. Our aim is to reduce the variation in lived experience and to help our community quickly find the help they need be they spouse, partner, child, sibling, friend or parent.
When bereaved military families transition out of the service community, they can face challenges associated with accommodation, continuity of education, access to health services, employment and financial hardship. Following a death in service, a family may experience the loss of community, peer groups and identity which can make military families more vulnerable and isolated than their civilian counterparts.
We are a trauma informed and collaborative organisation. We recognise that service families are the backbone of the UK armed forces, providing essential emotional support and stability during deployments. The well-being of family members and our promise under the armed forces covenant to give special consideration to bereaved families, is vital in the recruitment and retention of service personnel.
Our aim is to ensure that culture and policy respects and addresses an evidenced need, and that the voices of this unique, often forgotten group, who are neither serving, or veterans, are given the dignity, support and resources to lead thriving lives after the death of their loved ones.
