The Box Encapsulation Plant project is a significant construction initiative at the Sellafield Site, playing a vital role in the site's 100-year clean-up program by encasing recovered nuclear waste in concrete for modern storage. The plant primarily handles waste from the Magnox Swarf Storage Silo and other legacy waste stores, supporting the decommissioning efforts managed by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA).
The BEP Joint Venture project aims to design and deliver a plant that conditions waste from various sources, ensuring safety and stakeholder satisfaction throughout the process.
The Lead Completions Engineer reports to the Completions Manager and may oversee junior engineers and technicians.
Responsibilities:
* Ensuring safety is the highest priority, modeling a proactive approach to nuclear, radiological, conventional, and environmental safety.
* Participating in all completions activities during construction and commissioning.
* Producing and managing completions documentation.
* Organizing and supervising junior engineers and technicians.
* Liaising with regulatory compliance representatives to expedite documentation requirements.
* Recording supporting data in accordance with test requirements.
* Utilizing completions management systems to oversee commissioning activities and handovers.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Experience in configuring and managing completions management systems.
* Preference for HNC or equivalent qualification or a route to achieve it.
* Project completions experience.
The ability to obtain BPSS & P4 clearance is essential for this role.
