We are currently recruiting for Head Chef to run the kitchens of our busy hotel and help manage our brand new restaurant - The Stables.
Brand new to Wokingham The Stables serves gastro style, modern British cuisine using fresh produce where chefs take advantage of local ingredients whenever possible.
This is a varied and interesting role - as Head Chef you will be involved in all aspects of the day to day running of the kitchen; servicing the bar, restaurant and banqueting areas of our hotel. The Head Chef will need to have a strong understanding of kitchen management, health and safety, menu development and staff training.
The successful Head Chef candidate will be able to demonstrate a good track record in either quality Gastro pubs or restaurants, have a passion for good food and be an excellent team player.

Head Chef responsibilities
* To ensure that all food preparation is made to a high standard
* To run and supervise any kitchen section to the required standards
* To assist with the ordering, preparation and serving of all foods requested by hotel guests and for hotel conferences and functions.
* To assist with ordering all food supplies as required by business levels
* To produce menus as required
* To ensure all kitchen equipment is kept clean and to report any faults accordingly
* To ensure all preparation of the designated section is complete and ready for each service
* To take ownership and ensure that the presentation, taste, texture and quantity are maintained to the standards laid by the Company.
* To be passionate in assist with the training, induction and development of the kitchen brigade.
* To control wastage and to help maintain food costs.
* To manage all aspects of kitchen. These would include staff, Health Safety, equipment, and any other areas connected with the Kitchen organisation.
* Ability to operate all the kitchen equipment with the correct training in a safe and proper manner.
* Maintain a clean working station whilst adhering to health & safety standards.
* Ensure that all food is stored in the correct manner and that stock rotation is properly carried out.
* To work towards and ensure a positive relationship exists between the Restaurant and the Kitchen, focusing on respect and teamwork.
* To constantly focus on guest care and service. Ensuring that everything that is done well improves and enhances the guest experience.
