SEMH Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Surrey
Hours: Full-time / Term-time
Start Date: ASAP / Flexible
Contract: Long-term / Permanent opportunities available
The Role
As an SEMH LSA, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
* Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and engagement in learning
* Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to support EHCP targets
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience supporting SEMH, ASD, or challenging behaviour (school, PRU, AP, youth work, or care background welcomed)
* Is calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
* Has strong communication and behaviour management skills
* Is passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives
* Holds (or is willing to apply for) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
