Please note salary will be based on the Soulbury Pay A Scale (+ SPA), with your entry level to the role determining salary. We welcome applications from candidates seeking part-time opportunities.
The Role
Essex County Council is seeking passionate and dedicated Main Grade Educational Psychologists to join our quadrant-led teams. We are committed to applying psychology to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people. Applications are welcome from all qualified individuals, including Trainee Educational Psychologists in their second or third year of training.
As part of our team, you will be based in one of our four quadrants:
1. North: Colchester and surrounding areas
2. Mid: Chelmsford and surrounding areas
3. West: Harlow and surrounding areas
4. South: Basildon and surrounding areas

Our Educational Psychologists
Our EPs are friendly, dynamic, progressive, research-informed, and solution-oriented. We are committed to applying psychology to improve lives and foster positive change. Our team values reflection and continuous professional development. Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners, we deliver innovative approaches to meet the needs of diverse school communities across Essex.
The Opportunity
This role offers support through comprehensive induction, ongoing clinical supervision, and a robust CPD program including joint days, research conferences, and opportunities for personal development. Many of our EPs are also involved in academic and training activities, and we support special interests related to SEND.
Candidate Requirements
* Doctorate or Masters in Professional Educational Psychology
* HCPC registration or eligibility at end of training
* Graduate membership with the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS)
* Understanding of relevant legislation and evidence-based interventions
* Commitment to making a positive impact on children and young people in Essex

The role requires mobility across Essex, so a driving license or alternative arrangements are necessary.
