Job Description
We're seeking a technically skilled and public service–minded Technical Data Lead to support councils and partners with the practical implementation of SAVVI’ s data architecture, standards, and digital processes.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence how councils and partners across Scotland share data to identify vulnerable people, tackle child poverty, and deliver early help and support.
* Receive expert training on the SAVVI standard and approach.
* Explain and promote the SAVVI data standards to partners and stakeholders.
* Propose schemas and message formats based on the SAVVI Logical Model.
* Design API specifications to support a digital ecosystem for identifying and supporting vulnerable people and households.
* Provide technical guidance to help partners implement SAVVI standards and templates in real-world service settings.
* Support the integration of data from multiple systems and organisations, ensuring alignment and interoperability.
* Help improve the quality, completeness, and consistency of data to enable accurate identification of vulnerability.
* Translate complex technical concepts into accessible language for non-technical stakeholders, including senior leaders and front-line staff.
What You Bring:
* Strong understanding of data architecture, integration, and data-sharing technologies.
* Familiarity with data governance, metadata standards, and privacy-by-design principles.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
* Experience working with structured data, APIs, and system interoperability in a public sector or enterprise context.
* Understanding of data analytics.
* Commitment to tackling inequality and improving outcomes.

Information
Location: West Lothian Civic Centre, Howden South Road, Livingston, West Lothian EH54 6FF, with travel throughout Scotland as required. It is anticipated that the role will involve a blended model of office and home working and this flexible approach will be agreed between employee and line manager.

Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday - Friday
