The Role
University Hospital Hairmyres is looking for a dynamic, highly motivated senior pharmacist to join our pharmacy team! The successful candidate will lead clinical pharmacy services to the gastroenterology/inflammatory bowel disease service, consistent with NHS Lanarkshire’s core values of respect, fairness, quality and working together. Through collaboration with others, in particular the gastroenterology/ inflammatory bowel disease MDT, they will be expected to develop and deliver a vision for the service that will be required to adapt to an ever changing healthcare environment; necessitating experience in service development, financial awareness and managing projects. We are looking for a candidate who will motivate and inspire others both within pharmacy and the wider hospital, act as a role model and provide a consistently high quality service. What we'll need you to bring
Masters degree in Pharmacy
Registered to practice with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Continuing Professional Development as detailed by the General Pharmaceutical Council (mandatory requirement)
Independent prescribing qualification and experience utilising this on a regular basis.
Minimum 6 years hospital pharmacy experience with 4 years working within a clinical or technical speciality
Ability to monitor patient therapeutic regimens to ensure effectiveness and reduce toxicity.
Previous experience in delivering training and education at post-graduate level.
Demonstrable use of clinical audit to improve practice.
Demonstrate advanced level of clinical reasoning and judgement.
Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work to deadlines and manage resources
Participation in weekend and public holiday working
Participation in pharmacy emergency duty service (if appropriate)
Post graduate degree / diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or Management
It would be great if you also have
Experience in the specialist area the post covers i.e. gastroenterology.
Ability to undertake the duties of pre-registration pharmacist tutor
Ability to influence senior pharmacy medical and managerial staff and the multidisciplinary team.

This role will be based in University Hospital Hairmyres but requires the ability to work across the three NHSL acute sites.
The working pattern for this role is Mon-Fri; 8:50 - 5:00.
