We are seeking two passionate and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) to join our dedicated team and support the delivery of high-quality learning experiences for our pupils.

About the Role:

As a HLTA, you will work under the guidance of class teachers to plan and deliver tailored learning activities across a range of curriculum areas. You will also be responsible for monitoring, assessing, and reporting on pupil progress, contributing to both individual development and wider school improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

* Supporting the planning and delivery of engaging and effective lessons.
* Taking responsibility for agreed learning activities with individuals, groups, or whole classes under a system of supervision.
* Monitoring and assessing pupils' development, progress, and attainment.
* Working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to support inclusive education.
* Contributing to curriculum development and delivery in specialist areas such as literacy, numeracy, science, SEN, or Early Years.
* Supporting the professional development of colleagues through mentoring or training as required.

About You:

We are looking for someone with:

* At least three years of experience working to support children’s learning in a relevant educational setting.
* A qualification that meets HLTA standards or an equivalent level of education and experience.
* NVQ Level 4 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent).
* Strong understanding of curriculum matters and child development.
* The ability to plan effective learning strategies, especially for pupils at risk of underachieving.
* Experience in team leadership, prioritisation of tasks, and staff training.
* Proficient ICT skills and the ability to use relevant classroom technology.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with pupils, staff, and parents.
* Literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 in English and Maths.

Why Join Us?

At Cheadle Primary School, we are proud of our inclusive ethos, our supportive team environment, and our commitment to continuous improvement. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to making a difference in the lives of children.

Safeguarding Statement:

In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024, as a part of our recruitment process, we will carry out an online search on shortlisted candidates to identify any comment, image or other content that could cause reputational damage to the school and/or give rise to a safeguarding concern. If we discover anything during our searches, this will be passed onto the Headteacher and discussed during interview.

We are deeply committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff, governors and volunteers to share this commitment. All necessary safeguarding checks will be undertaken which must have satisfactory outcomes, otherwise the conditional job offer may be withdrawn. Details of the checks that will be undertaken can be found within the Keeping Children Safe in Education, 2024 document.

This role has been assessed as working in regulated activity and is subject to an Enhanced DBS plus Children’s Barred List Check.

It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020). This means that certain convictions and cautions are considered ‘protected’ and do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account. Guidance about whether a conviction or caution should be disclosed can be found on the Ministry of Justice website.

Positions at the school are exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and, as such, appointment to a post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). DBS Filtering guidance can be found on the GOV.UK website.
