Female Personal Assistant for Spinal Injured Guy 18-hrs pw (ONS) £12.22 + - WAKEFIELD - WF2
Person specification
I am looking for someone reliable, energetic, outgoing with a good sense of humour to join my friendly team of PAs supporting me in living independently.
Some experience of providing care is preferred, but not essential. If you have good work ethics and are committed to providing the best care possible with a genuine interest, I would like to hear from you.
The role involves assistance with all aspects of daily life, including personal care, domestic tasks, and activities such as keep fit, wheelchair rugby, cycling, swimming, art projects, gardening, woodwork, craft projects, socialising, occasional nights out, and trips.
Regardless of experience, you must be willing to learn under my guidance and follow advice from experienced PAs. As you progress, you will be expected to work using your own initiative. Full job description available upon request.
About me
I have a C5/6 spinal cord injury (broken neck): complete paralysis below the shoulders and partial paralysis of both arms, no hand or finger dexterity, and am wheelchair bound. I need assistance with personal care and domestic chores.
I am an active person who enjoys life, has a good sense of humour, and strives for independence despite paralysis. I currently have three PAs providing one-to-one support and am looking to add to my team.
Training
During induction/shadow shifts, you will be guided through the tasks listed in the job description.
Times Required
A typical shift starts at 18:00 and ends at 11:00 the following day.
You will be expected to cover holiday leave and absences equally. Additional cover may be required for annual leave between June and August.
Initially, a new starter will work one shift per week plus additional training.
I look forward to hearing from you
