Learning Support Assistant – SEN Secondary School (Portsmouth) Start Date: ASAP Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary Agency: Teaching Personnel Teaching Personnel are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive SEN secondary school in Portsmouth on a full-time, temporary basis. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping young people with special educational needs thrive both academically and personally. About the Role As a Learning Support Assistant, you will: Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students aged 11–16 with a variety of needs, including autism (ASC), learning difficulties, and SEMH. Assist the class teacher by adapting lessons and resources to make learning accessible. Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment. Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and independence. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff. What We’re Looking For Experience supporting children or young people (school experience desirable but not essential). A calm, patient, and nurturing approach. A genuine interest in SEN education.
