Job Opportunity: Domestic Gas Engineer (Chelmsford / Colchester) Location: Chelmsford / Colchester Sector: Social Housing / Housing Association Position: Qualified Domestic Gas Engineer Example Recruitment Group are proud to be working with a well-established national heating contractor specialising in the local authority sector. We are currently seeking a qualified Domestic Gas Engineer to cover the Chelmsford & Colchester area. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out servicing, repairs, and maintenance within domestic social housing properties on a Housing Association contract. Gas Engineer Key Responsibilities: Carry out annual Gas Safety Checks (LGSR) Fault finding and repairs on central heating systems Deliver a high level of customer service, ensuring tenants receive excellent care Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations, including Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and COSHH records Gas Engineer Requirements: A minimum of 2 years experience with gas qualifications Extensive experience in servicing boilers and gas appliances, as well as strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and repair skills In-date ACS qualifications, including CKR1 & HTR1 Full UK driving licence No unspent criminal convictions (DBS check to be carried out upon offer of employment) Gas Engineer Salary & Benefits: 42.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) Overtime paid at time-and-a-half, door-to-door Additional overtime and weekend work available at enhanced rates Van, tools, PPE/uniform, and PDA provided Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum Monthly performance-related bonus up to £200 Out-of-hours call-out rota (1 week in 4) paid £400 in summer and £600 in winter guaranteeing an additional £7,000 per year on top of salary OTE £45,000 per annum 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Pension scheme To apply for this Gas Engineer role, please submit an up-to-date CV, and one of our team members will be in touch.
