Position
An exciting opportunity for a Consultant Breast Radiographer within our Medical Imaging department based at University Hospital Crosshouse.
Hours
36 hours per week, Monday - Friday. This post is offered on a permanent basis. From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part‑time staff) without loss of earnings.
UK Driving Licence
A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What You Will Do
As the successful candidate, you will be a central part of a specialist breast team, providing and facilitating expert care for patients with, or at risk of, breast disease. You will work independently and collaboratively, assess and diagnose patients, manage your own caseload, and be supported in continuous professional development. You will bring a high level of autonomy to the role, whilst benefiting from collaboration with a close‑knit multidisciplinary team comprising Consultant Surgeons, Consultant Radiologists, and Advanced Practitioner Specialist Radiographers.
Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required For This Post
The post holder will be a HCPC registered Radiographer, ideally holding a Post Graduate Masters level qualification that includes:
* Mammography
* Mammographic Film Interpretation
* Breast Ultrasound
* Interventional Breast Procedures
You should have a minimum of 3 years of advanced practice in multiple areas of breast imaging. The successful candidate will be well organised, detail oriented, able to make difficult decisions, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
