Are you an experienced cook with a strong understanding of food hygiene and nutrition? We are currently recruiting a Temporary Cook on behalf of our third-party client for an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation, cooking, and service of a wide range of dishes, including therapeutic and modified diets for patients, staff, visitors, and functions
Ensure that agreed standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and service quality are consistently met and monitored
Maintain accurate records in line with departmental and regulatory requirements
Follow standard recipes to meet nutritional guidelines, including fluid and food consistency adaptations for special diets
Report equipment faults or hazards to appropriate personnel or directly to the Estates Fault Line
Work collaboratively with Head/Assistant Head Cooks, supervisors, and clinical staff to meet service delivery needs
Key Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in a commercial or healthcare kitchen environment
Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (e.g. HACCP, COSHH)
Ability to prepare meals in line with therapeutic and dietary requirements
Excellent time management and organisation skills
Competent in record keeping, stock control, and cleanliness procedures
Team player with a positive and proactive attitude
Knowledge of modified texture diets and nutritional standards is desirable
