Delivery Lead (AI)

We're looking for an experienced Delivery Lead (AI) to support and coordinate the delivery of AI‑enabled products and technical capabilities across a growing organisation.
This is a senior delivery role, operating across multiple teams and initiatives, with responsibility for bringing coherence, pace, and control to an evolving AI delivery roadmap. You'll sit at the centre of complex workstreams, working closely with engineers, AI practitioners, product leaders, and fellow delivery managers to ensure work is well‑planned, well‑resourced, and progressing smoothly.
AI adoption is accelerating, and delivery models are still emerging. This role suits someone who thrives in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments, using judgement, prioritisation, and clear communication rather than over‑reliance on rigid frameworks.
What you'll be doing
Your role is to make AI delivery work in practice, across multiple teams and priorities.
You will:
1. Own and coordinate delivery across AI‑related workstreams, pulling disparate inputs into a clear, coherent delivery plan
2. Manage financials and commercials for AI delivery, including forecasting, tracking spend, and supporting commercial decision‑making
3. Work closely with engineering teams to maintain momentum across multiple parallel initiatives
4. Act as a central escalation point for delivery risks and issues, ensuring visibility and timely resolution
5. Support and coordinate other delivery managers contributing to the AI strategy, aligning plans and sharing good practice
6. Translate technical concepts - such as architectures, data pipelines, and AI engineering approaches - into clear, accessible language for stakeholders
7. Plan and prioritise work packages, balancing short‑term delivery needs with longer‑term roadmap goals
8. Apply pragmatic agile and lean practices, adapting them to suit AI teams and their level of maturity
9. Maintain delivery pace in a dynamic, sometimes ambiguous environment
10. Build strong relationships with demanding stakeholders, balancing expectations with delivery reality
11. Contribute to team leadership and, as teams grow, support line management where needed
What we're looking for
This role is ideal for a delivery professional who combines organisation, credibility, and adaptability.
Essential experience:
12. Experience working as a Delivery Manager / Delivery Lead (or equivalent) in AI or highly technical environments
13. Around 2-3 years' experience delivering AI‑related or AI‑adjacent work
14. Strong understanding of financial and commercial delivery, including budgeting, forecasting, and spend tracking
15. Credible technical understanding - able to engage confidently with engineers on architecture and tooling
16. Experience coordinating delivery across multiple products or teams, managing competing priorities
17. Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask effectively
18. Confident communicator across technical and non‑technical stakeholders
19. Comfortable maintaining momentum where processes and ways of working are still forming
20. A people‑focused leadership style that brings teams together
Desirable experience
21. Background as a technical project manager, senior scrum master, or engineer
22. Hands‑on exposure to AI platforms, Python‑based systems, or AI/ML tooling
23. Ability to explain how AI systems are built, deployed, and operated without being a specialist engineer
24. Experience supporting or line‑managing delivery roles as teams scale
25. Familiarity with enterprise or hub‑and‑spoke delivery models
