The Staff Architect will work on project teams to create world class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of project types including corporate, healthcare, sport venues, data centers, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government and military facilities. The Staff Architect will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting architectural plans according to budget constraints, environmental factors or client needs.
Responsibilities
* Perform architectural design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
* Modify and review production drawings for a variety of building types including, but not limited to data centers, power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial, governmental and military facilities.
* Design exterior and interior components and architectural requirements for client vision set forth by the project managers.
* Apply strong knowledge of commonly used architectural concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the architecture industry.
* Research and compile project related data as required by the project managers. Compile studies and reports. Write specifications.
* Update drawings provided by senior architects to verify corrections are made within multiple software platforms.
* Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of power, process, pipeline, industrial, healthcare, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental and military facilities.
* Perform field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
* Comply with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
* Bachelor Degree in Architecture from an accredited program and 3 years of architectural experience, consulting preferred.
* A sound knowledge in standard architectural techniques and procedures.
* Experience at a concept design level to assist with the development of data centre masterplans.
* Ability to write specifications for all architectural elements and standards of workmanship.
* Some experience and knowledge of NBS specification writing.
* Experience of large‑scale industrial or commercial design.
* Excellent experience working with structural, MEP and coordination with those disciplines.
* Data center or telecommunication facility experience and knowledge of critical facility Mechanical design.
* Membership of relevant industry body, e.g. RIBA. Demonstrated progress toward becoming a Registered Architect.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem‑solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
* Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
* Strong computer skills (e.g. BIM (Revit), Adobe Suites, and 3D rendering programs).
* Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem‑solving skills.
