Customer Delivery Driver - Southport Extra
Join Tesco as a Customer Delivery Driver. Your role will involve delivering customer shopping trips for our Southport Extra store. We offer a competitive pay rate that starts from £13.35 an hour, increasing to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.
We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week, with flexible options down to 12 hours for those seeking less commitment.
Availability
We look for drivers ready to work within the following windows. Your contracts will be scheduled within these times, and you will receive at least three weeks notice of your exact shifts.
* Sunday: 19:00 – 23:00
* Monday: 19:00 – 23:00
* Tuesday: 19:00 – 23:00
* Thursday: 19:00 – 23:00
* Friday: 19:00 – 23:00
* Saturday: 19:00 – 23:00
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the van and trays are clean and organized.
* Leave the back yard tidy, clear of rubbish, and pick up litter if seen.
* Wash trays as part of the tray wash process.
* Load the van appropriately and check it for roadworthiness.
* Communicate any order changes, short code items, substitutions, or refunds with the customer.
* Handle products and deliveries as if they were your own.
* Inform customers of any free substitutions.
* Deliver within the customer’s allotted time slot.
* Notify the customer before arriving if early.
* Call the store/centre if running 30 minutes or more late.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Build relationships within the team to foster a positive work environment.
* Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues.
* Act quickly to respond to changing customer needs and adapt to the evolving store environment.
* Be energetic and driven to exceed expectations, balancing home and work life.
* Share ideas with managers and colleagues on service improvements.
* Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (Full or Automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
