MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB Maintenance of a secure environment for airport activities using observation, aids, external equipment and assisting with the maintenance and establishment of security standards. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To screen passengers and baggage in accordance with the laid down procedures To search baggage as required To carry out X-ray duties To carry out mobile Patrols To screen airport personnel in accordance with laid down procedures To produce written reports as required in accordance with local procedures To maintain the cleanliness of the terminal To assist the On Call Senior Manager with Airport/Airline emergency procedures as published in the relevant manuals. To assist the Airside Manager with any Hold Baggage Reconciliation functions as required. RULES AND PROCEDURES To be aware of and adhere to applicable rules, regulations, legislation and procedures e.g. Equal Opportunities Policy, Code of Conduct, national legislation (Health & Safety, Data Protection). To maintain confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking duties for the department. To be responsible for your own self-development, undertaking training as appropriate. To undertake other duties appropriate to the grading of the post, as required.
