Job Description West Dunbartonshire Council has a fantastic opportunity for two talented individuals to be Apprentice Plumbers. The Modern Apprentices will join the Council's Maintenance and Repairs team who are responsible for carrying out in excess of 60,000 repairs/alterations, capital investment improvements and safety checks to Tenant & Owner Occupied properties Factored by West Dunbartonshire Council each year among other projects. Maintenance and Repairs have 3 depots, one based at Cochno Street, Clydebank and the other 2 based at Overburn Avenue & Elm Road, Dumbarton covering both Alexandria and Dumbarton geographical areas. We are looking to recruit two Modern Apprentice Plumbers, one to be based in our Cochno Street depot in Clydebank and one at our Overburn Avenue depot in Dumbarton. We welcome applications if you are aged 16-24 years (or up to age 29, if you are disabled or care experienced), a resident within West Dunbartonshire, Minimum 3 National 4’s to include English, Maths or a science or technical practical subject. The Modern Apprentices will attend a College establishment to gain class and work based learning qualifications that will lead to a requirement to learn Gas related learning in the last six to nine months of their apprenticeship. Successful completion of College activities and gas certifications will enable the Modern Apprentices to achieve an SVQ in Domestic Plumbing & Heating at SCQF Level 7.
