Principal Planning Officer - Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire
Rate: £29.22ph PAYE | Reference: OR7363
We are seeking a Principal Planning Officer to assist in delivering the Development Management Service within Pembrokeshire's policy framework. The role focuses on ensuring land development aligns with appropriate location criteria and that the natural, built, and historic environments are conserved.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process a wide range of planning applications, including large-scale proposals and applications related to specialist policy areas.
2. Prepare reports for committee on non-delegated applications and for the Interim Head of Planning on delegated applications.
3. Exercise delegated powers to determine certain applications and perform other delegated functions as specified by the Chief Planning Officer / Director of Community Services.
4. Provide statutory and non-statutory pre-application advice through a fee-based service, assessing proposals against relevant policies and considerations.
5. Support and advise case officers to develop their knowledge and share expertise.
