Job Description
We are seeking skilled Self employed Window Fitters to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in fitting and installing PVC and aluminium windows, ensuring that all installations meet safety and quality standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Window Fitter and their team will be responsible for various tasks related to window installation, including preparation, fitting, and finishing work. We have customers within the central belt of Scotland from the West coast to the East coast and in between.
Duties
* Measure and mark window openings to ensure accurate fittings.
* Install windows according to specifications, ensuring they are plumb and level.
* Perform necessary adjustments and repairs to existing window frames.
* Work with various materials including plaster, masonry, and roofing elements as required.
* Fabricate custom window frames when necessary, following schematics and design plans.
* Conduct finishing work such as sealing around installed windows to ensure weatherproofing.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Window Fitter or in a similar role within the construction industry.
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
* Familiarity with plastering, masonry techniques is beneficial.
* Ability to read and interpret schematics for accurate installation.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site.
* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various environments.
* A valid driving licence and own van for travel between job sites.
