Travel Health Nurse Opportunity
We are seeking a registered Travel Immunisation Nurse to cover clinic shifts in a dynamic healthcare environment.
The Role
The focus of this role is on delivering evidence-based care for patients presenting with travel screening requirements, emphasizing prevention of related infections and tropical illnesses.
Nurses will undertake travel risk assessments, administer vaccinations, and antimalarial chemoprophylaxis, working collaboratively within the team environment to meet patient needs and support policy delivery.
Candidates must have experience in travel vaccinations, with additional training and upskilling provided.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in travel preventative medicine.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide effective and competent travel care, assessing, planning, implementing, auditing, and evaluating travel health care.
2. Identify and manage treatment plans and vaccination schedules for patients at risk of developing travel-related conditions.
3. Work with other healthcare professionals to monitor, manage, and treat patients in line with national and local policies and practice needs.
Responsibilities Include:
* Administering vaccinations where appropriate for patients pre- and post-travel.
* Carrying out agreed audits, writing reports, and making recommendations on findings.
* Accessing computer-based information via web or shared databases.
Requirements
* A current valid NMC registration.
* Flexibility with availability as this is a bank nurse position.
