Job Summary
Full‑time apprenticeship/contract for 24 months. 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with late nights, weekends and bank holiday rota. One day per week release to college.
Salary
Top of Band 4: Year 1 – 70% (£21,113.40), Year 2 – 75% (£22,621.50)
Key Responsibilities
* Complete the two‑year training programme leading to a Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Technician.
* Attend college one day per week for distance learning or in‑person study, and undertake in‑house training and “off‑the‑job” study.
* Work under supervision and rotate through dispensary, procurement, distribution, aseptic dispensing and clinical trials units.
* Provide ward‑based services, including medicine reconciliation and drug supply/storage.
* Progress to assessing the work of others and participate in continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications & Experience
* GCSEs: Maths C/4, English and Science at C/4 or above, with three additional subjects at grade C/4 or above. OR Pharmacy Service Skills QCF Level 2 or equivalent with 12 months current experience, plus GCSE Maths and English at C/4/2.
* Recent or current experience in a pharmacy, or demonstrated interest in pharmacy.
* Strong teamwork ability and willingness to learn.
Skills & Knowledge
* Accurate following of instructions and timely completion of tasks.
* Literate and numerate communication within a team.
* Keyboard proficiency for document creation.
* Desirable: knowledge of Microsoft Office for reporting and presentations.
