Salary: £38,000 to £50,000pa (depending on experience)
Role Purpose
The key role of Project Manager is responsible for the end‑to‑end technical delivery of a diverse portfolio of live events (e.g., corporate, brand activations, conferences, exhibitions, award shows) across the UK and further afield. The role ensures that all events are executed to the highest technical standard, safely, on time, and within budget, working alongside our technical production managers and delivery teams to provide the highest levels of customer service whilst delivering events for some of the world's biggest brands.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Technical Delivery
* End‑to‑End Delivery: Oversee the entire technical production lifecycle, from initial brief and concept design through to load‑out and post‑event reporting.
* Technical Design & Specification: Interpret client and creative briefs, developing comprehensive technical specifications across all disciplines (Sound, Lighting, Video/AV, Rigging, Power, Staging/Set).
* Process Compliance: Ensure all company processes and procedures are strictly followed across all stages of production, including warehouse operations, equipment check‑in/out, and technical standards.
* Venue & Site Liaison: Conduct site visits, draw/review technical drawings, and liaise on all technical and logistical requirements.
* Resource Management: Coordinate internal departments and external suppliers/contractors according to production schedule time frames.
Financial Management & Client Relations
* Quote and Proposal Generation: Create comprehensive and accurate quotes, proposals, and cost estimates for clients using the company's designated internal systems (e.g., rental management software, CRM).
* Cost Control: Track all project expenses, manage supplier invoicing, and provide accurate financial reporting and reconciliation to the client and internal finance team.
* Client Communication: Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, and event planners, pre, during and post production, offering expert advice, managing expectations, and ensuring a first‑class customer service experience.
* Business Development Support: providing support at pitch meetings and for tender submissions, providing expert technical insights, detailed cost breakdowns, and contributing to the technical strategy to win new business.
Team Management
* Crew Management: Resource, brief, supervise, and manage on‑site technical crews, local crew, and specialised freelancers, ensuring clear communication and adherence to production schedules and standards.
What We're Looking For
* Demonstrable experience in a Project Manager or Technical Manager role within the live events or technical production industry.
* In‑depth technical knowledge and proficiency across multiple disciplines: Audio, Lighting, Video/AV, Staging, and Rigging.
* Exceptional project and budget management, organisational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure.
* Experience with different event types (e.g., large‑scale outdoor, complex corporate/hybrid).
* Competency in drawing technical schematics.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear liaison with clients, crew, and management.
* Applies rigorous attention to detail in all tasks.
* Flexibility to work non‑standard hours during events and be available for both UK and international travel as dictated by the event schedule.
Desirable Qualifications & Attributes
* A relevant technical qualification or degree in Project Management, Event Production, Technical Theatre, or a related field would be beneficial but not essential.
* Knowledge of specific event management or inventory software.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
