SEN Teaching Assistant – All Boys Alternative Provision Location: South East London Start Date: ASAP / Ongoing Contract: Full-time, term-time We are recruiting a resilient and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join an all-boys Alternative Provision supporting pupils aged KS2–KS4 who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education. The setting supports students with SEMH, behavioural needs, ADHD, trauma-related behaviours and complex social backgrounds, offering structured routines, high staff ratios and strong pastoral support. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs Support emotional regulation, engagement and positive behaviour strategies Assist with de-escalation and restorative approaches Build strong, consistent relationships with challenging and disengaged learners Support learning across core and vocational subjects Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and external agencies Requirements: Experience working with SEMH or challenging behaviour Background in alternative provision, PRU, SEN, youth work or mentoring preferred Calm, consistent and resilient approach Strong behaviour management and safeguarding awareness Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply) What’s on Offer: Competitive daily pay rates Supportive leadership and experienced teams Ongoing training and CPD opportunities Long-term and temp-to-perm opportunities This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people who need it most.
