Head of Waste Processing, Enforcement & Business Support (Public Sector) VANRATH are excited to be working closely to support with the role of a Head of Waste Processing, Enforcement & Business Support for a well established client within the local authority. This is initially a 6 month assignment, which has scope for a permanent position for the right candidate! Responsibilities The post holder will responsible for the effective leadership and management of services that come under their control in the pursuit of service excellence, value for money and continuous improvement. In this capacity, and as part of the Technical Management Team, the post holder will provide clear leadership in the areas of Waste Processing, Recycling, Enforcement & Business Support. They will assist the Assistant Director and when required assist in the support of the Technical Management Team (TMT), in their strategic, policy and decision-making roles by providing timely, professional and objective advice on the areas of responsibility which fall under the responsibility of this post. The post holder will support the Assistant Director to create a high performing culture by being an active member of the Technical Management Team; in assisting the development and delivery of the key objectives of the Waste Department and contributing to the operational effectiveness of the whole organisation. They will deliver high quality services across the Section by using performance management to drive continuous improvement and effectively using council's resources. Ideal Candidate Have a minimum of a Level 6* qualification, for e.g., University Degree AND Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years' experience at a management level position to include responsibility in ALL the following areas: Leading and developing programmes/projects Management of a Licensing and/or Enforcement function. Management of staff Budget Management Preparing and presenting reports to Committees or Council OR Applicants who do not possess a Level 6* qualification should demonstrate a minimum of 3 years' experience at a management level position to include responsibility in ALL the following areas: Leading and developing programmes/projects Management of a Licensing and/or Enforcement function. Management of staff Budget Management Preparing and presenting reports to Committees or Council Have a minimum of 1 years' experience of successfully managing and delivering a variety of projects simultaneously and achieving results to meet timeframes, involving external agencies. Have a minimum of 1 years' experience in the development and management of successful working partnerships with a range of groups and individuals. Desirable Criteria Level 4* WAMITAB Operator Competence Certificate in a Wastes Management subject area. Membership of a relevant professional body e.g., Chartered Institute of Wastes Management Remuneration Circa £51,802 plus pension, holiday pay and discount benefits.
