Established in 1790 in London, Haynes Bros Ltd is now the holding company for a group of subsidiary companies operating throughout the South of England.
Moving to Kent in 1832, the Company was the first in the county to take on the Ford Motor Company franchise in 1911 and then sell and distribute the complete range of Ford cars, trucks and agricultural machinery.
Today it is the only privately owned company in the UK that still distributes these range of products, albeit now with different manufacturers given Ford Motor Company’s departure from the truck and agricultural sectors. In addition to its Ford & Changan vehicle franchises, its other key franchises include Iveco, New Holland, Case IH and JCB. It operates these via four subsidiary companies from 12 locations across Southern England.
The Role
We require an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to work within a busy and growing IT department, assisting with initial fault diagnostic and remedy of day-to-day issues with the Company’s IT equipment, along with the assistance in project work and deployment of new equipment.
This role would suit someone with industry certification such as CompTIA or someone with industry experience.
Responsibilities Include:
* Answering of 1st line support calls, and logging onto the ticket system.
* Providing basic 1st Line IT support, initial fault diagnostic and feeding into 2nd line if required. Providing remote support on basic troubleshooting / software issues, password resets etc.
* Setup of new PC, mobile phones and tablets.
* Monitoring reporting from key systems for issues. Such as anti-virus alerts, backup failures etc.
* Patch management & Windows update tracking.
* Assisting with ink/toner tracking & dispatch.
* Other adhoc duties, as appropriate.
Person Specification
* Ticketing systems, email filtering and cyber security would be advantageous.
* Active Directory, group policies and Microsoft 365 administration experience or knowledge.
* Intune & Defender knowledge would be preferred but is not essential.
* Understanding of DNS, DHCP and VPN setup
* Knowledge of PC & Printer troubleshooting on Windows 11
* Experienced with iOS device setup and software. Assisting users with migrations to new handsets and moving their data.
* VoIP phone system admin experience would prove beneficial
* Motor industry experience would be preferred but is not essential.
* Self-motivated, enthusiastic, with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
* Ability to work alone and as part of a busy team.
* Excellent organisational skills & high attention to detail.
* Good verbal and listening skills for effective communication with the members of staff at all levels via telephone, email and in person to understand their needs.
* Able to work under pressure or to tight deadlines.
* Well-presented, professional but friendly approach to business.
* Willingness to travel between locations
* Driving license
