Our client is a high-end construction company seeking an Application Sales Technician with exceptional CAD/CAM expertise. The role is field-based across the UK and requires someone within a commutable distance to Milton Keynes.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where CAD/CAM proficiency is paramount. You’ll use your expertise to showcase machine capabilities, support installations, and provide ongoing training while managing the full sales cycle from enquiry to project delivery.
Summary of the Application Sales Technician role
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum DOE
Location: Commutable to Milton Keynes, field-based.
Type of Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm
Responsibilities of the Application Sales Technician
* Use CAD/CAM knowledge as the foundation for demonstrations, customer trials, and technical training.
* Actively respond to enquiries while seeking and developing new business opportunities across the UK.
* Manage the full sales cycle, from initial enquiry through to project completion, ensuring smooth delivery at every stage.
* Deliver technical training and aftersales support on-site and remotely, building long-term customer relationships.
* Represent the company at trade shows and training events in the UK and occasionally in Germany.
* Collaborate with a close-knit, innovative team to share insights and ideas for business growth.
Requirements for a successful Application Sales Technician
* Proven expertise in CAD/CAM – this is essential and forms the core of the role.
* Background in technical sales, with experience managing projects from enquiry to completion.
* Hands-on knowledge of CNC milling machines (set-up/operation experience highly desirable).
* Strong IT skills, including CRM systems or similar tools.
* Self-motivated, commercially astute, and confident engaging with both SMEs and large corporate clients.
* A collaborative team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
