The Northumbria symptomatic breast service operates over three base sites: Wansbeck General, North Tyneside, and Hexham hospitals. The service runs 5 days a week, from 8 am to 4 pm. The successful candidate will be confident in performing all standard and additional mammography views and will be able to travel to all sites throughout the week.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team of Radiographers specializing in mammography, performing mammograms for the one-stop clinic and annual review program. They will also assist with stereo and US guided vacuum biopsies.
Essential Criteria
* PGc in Mammography
* BSc in Radiography
* HPC Registration
* Full-time is desirable, but part-time hours will be considered

Job Responsibilities
* Provide mammographic services across trust sites at North Tyneside, Wansbeck, and Hexham hospitals.
* Apply specialist knowledge to carry out mammography examinations to a high standard.
* Ensure patient care and comfort are maintained at all times.
* Treat all patients with empathy, encouraging cooperation during examinations.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, and visitors in a professional manner.
* Adhere to local instructions and demonstrate understanding of IR(ME)R and Health and Safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
* If competent, continue to provide general radiographic services.

* Provide high-quality mammographic services across trust sites.
* Deliver patient care with empathy, especially for distressed or vulnerable patients.
* Apply specialist knowledge to adapt techniques to individual patient needs.
* Maintain effective communication and promote good relations with colleagues and patients.
* Ensure compliance with IR(ME)R and Health and Safety legislation.
* Participate in general radiographic services as required.
* Supervise Assistant Practitioners, assistants, and student Radiographers, verifying examinations and checking their work.
* Communicate effectively with patients who have language barriers, learning disabilities, or other special needs, ensuring explanations are sympathetic and clear.
* Demonstrate the required English language proficiency for the role.
