Role Purpose: The Vision4ce software team, based in Wokingham consists of a group of highly motivated engineers with a wealth of experience in image processing algorithms and software development. The team is split into three smaller groups focussing on Algorithm Development and two key software applications – FrameWorkx, which is primarily a real-time video capture and image processing application and VMS, which is focused on the integration of Electro-optic systems and the graphical user interface. Joining the software team and reporting to the software team leader, the software engineer will be responsible for: Design, development and testing of application software for video capture, processing and display. Provision of technical support and integration assistance to international customers. Generation and review of system specification documents. Preparation of test documentation and unit tests in a continuous integration environment. Bug fixing. Skills & Experience Essential Have a degree in a discipline such as computer science, electronics, mathematics, or physics. Have experience of C++ application development for Windows or Linux using IDE’s such as Microsoft Visual Studio. Be an enthusiastic team player but able to work on your own initiative. Be able to adapt quickly in a fast-changing agile environment. Desirable Have experience of using Electro Optic Sensors such as TV and IR cameras. Have experience of video processing or development of computer vision algorithms. Development of graphical user interfaces using OpenGL. CUDA, OpenCV, and other GPU computing technologies. Knowledge of AI techniques such as deep learning. K nowledge of network and serial-based communication protocols. Knowledge of Yocto / Linux for Embedded Hardware Experience of deploying and debugging software on real-world hardware solutions. Closed loop control systems. Video streaming application development.
