We are recruiting Assistant Site Engineers to join our client’s new £65 million energy project in Newport, South Wales. This hands-on site role requires a strong background in utilities and civil engineering projects, including trenching, deep excavations, and reinforced concrete works. Responsibilities
* Plan the coordination of works alongside the Construction Project Manager, maintaining a 6 week lookahead
* Implement CDM checklist requirements
* Manage self-delivered work as well as subcontracted packages
* Carry out inductions and HSEQ inspections
* Draft and issue RAMS and permits
* Adapt pre-established generic ITPs to site-specific permanent works and collate evidence for closure
* Material take-off and liaise with site management for ordering of materials
* Keep a site diary of compensation events and report any deviation from the cost forecast or scope of works
* Set out with surveying equipment
Role specifics
My client requires a Civil Assistant Site Engineer who can develop and manage the civils Reinforced Concrete (RC) capability, including setting out, dimensional control, quality assurance and managing teams of operatives, materials and plant procurement. Ideally experience of working with a DNO and an understanding of substation projects and NEC3 contracts.
Qualifications and experience
* Experience in a similar role with a SSSTS/SMSTS qualification
* Experience as a Site Engineer dealing with trenching/deep excavations; RC works, duct installation, cable pulling, power
* Knowledge of CDM compliance, RAMS & ITP production, programme management and cost management
* RC structure and groundworks experience is required; Piling and HDD is optional; AutoCAD, RAMS production
* Setting out and dimensional control experience is essential
