We have a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Unit in Taunton. Hours : Part and full time hours can be considered Working Pattern: Shifts are offered on a rota basis to cover the 24/7 service and include days, nights, and weekends Contract: Permanent Salary: £33,455 pro rata per annum We offer a pay progression pathway which aligns with increasing knowledge, skill and leadership. You will also receive the following unsocial hours payments : 30% for all time on a Saturday (midnight to midnight) and any weekday after 8pm and before 6am. 60% for all time on a Sunday and Public Holidays (midnight to midnight). Based within our patient focused IPU team, you will play a key role by delivering nursing care that is patient-centred and holistic. Your day to say work will involve: Making initial and maintaining ongoing assessments for all patients. Providing leadership and supervision to the wider nursing team, organising evidence based, patient centred care. Advising and supporting on the physical, emotional, spiritual, psychological and social needs of families, carers and bereaved relatives. Maintaining accurate notes using appropriate Hospice recording systems. Assisting with the admission and discharge of patients. Advising on the support and benefits that may be available to patients. Undertaking all aspects of nursing activity including pain relief, symptom control, wound dressings, mouth care & nutrition needs, moving and handling, personal care, infection control, bowel management, and syringe pumps. What will you be good at? You will be: A qualified nurse with NMC registration Knowledgeable and experienced in palliative and end of life care, including the assessment and ongoing management of symptoms Proficient in clinical skills, such as IV administration, Catheterisation (male and female), PICC line care, NG and PEGs. Experience in tracheostomy care, NIV, cannulation, and venepuncture is desirable. What can we offer you?
