Executive Quantity Surveyor Executive/Principal Consultant level Barrow-in-Furness (Hybrid working, mixture of home, office and client sites) Permanent Full time with flexible working and core hours About this opportunity Gleeds is seeking experienced Executive Quantity Surveyors to lead the commercial delivery of major engineering and equipment contracts within the nuclear defence sector. These programmes underpin critical national capability and involve some of the most technically complex and secure assets in the country. As an Executive Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial leadership across contracts involving complex M&E systems, advanced manufacturing and specialist infrastructure providing assurance, governance and commercial oversight. This role ensures contracts are being delivered correctly, at cost and on time. No two days are the same. We are a flexible team that supports each other’s projects as well as getting involved with wider business activities. We believe that variety is key to your development however the below responsibilities will remain constant in any role or project you work on - Commercial and contractual management, working collaboratively with contractors to ensure improved efficiencies Undertake and oversee site surveys to quantify measures, progress and validate claims in line with contract Review and validate contractor estimates Oversee supply chain performance, including specialist contractors, equipment suppliers and system integrators Support the measurement, verification and valuation of M&E installation works Lead and mentor junior members of the team Qualifications Relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, in the Nuclear / Civil engineering / Engineering (Including Service Contracting) sectors. Advanced experience of standard forms of contract, including the NEC suite. Ideally HNC, HND or Degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying / Cost Management, Construction Law, or similar / relevant discipline, or in some case applicants with an alternative background (e.g.: Engineering) may be considered if there is significant on the job experience. Professional qualifications and/or membership of the RICS, CIOB, CICES, CIPS or other relevant Chartered Institute are desirable, and will be supported if not already attained.
