Role Profile

Job Title: Assistant Manager
Function/Department: Retail
Reporting To: Shop Manager
Location: Erdington


Role Purpose

You will be responsible and accountable for the shop and team in the absence of the Shop Manager, operating and running the shop, managing the shop team effectively. The day-to-day role is to assist the Shop Manager and team with the smooth running of the store, ensuring high standards are maintained while accepting and paying out bets and delivering excellent customer service. The role encompasses opening and closing the business and, in the absence of the Shop Manager, managing shop operations.


Key Responsibilities

* Support the Shop Manager with day-to-day running of the shop and team.
* In absence of the Shop Manager, lead operations and manage the shop team, including:
o Opening and closing the shop.
o Managing and guiding the shop team.
o Cash management procedures.
o Using the company time and attendance system ensuring adherence.
o Leading by example to maintain shop presentation standards.
o Encouraging team communication to share improvement ideas.
o Focusing on shop results, identifying opportunities, and driving high standards.
o Providing outstanding customer experience.
o Educating and guiding team to deliver excellent customer service.
o Accepting bets accurately via EPOS and betting terminals.
o Acting as a brand ambassador, introducing customers to the multi-channel/digital journey.
o Ensuring shop adheres to operational, cash management, and security procedures.
o Adhering to Social Responsibility duties.

Desirable Skills and Experience
* 1 year Assistant Manager/Supervisor Retail experience.
* Industry experience welcomed but not essential; full training provided.
* Knowledge of sport and betting related topics.
