The organisation provides business support to young people by providing dedicated business coaches, workshops, one to one sessions, tailored business programmes, spaces to test trade from and business mentoring.

About the role
As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the finance function, developing, implementing and maintaining an appropriate internal control framework and applying the terms and conditions of contracts and grants. This role provides huge variety where you will be working in a small team and have a high degree of independence.
You will also be exposed to working closely with the board of trustees and be the right hand to the CEO and your responsibilities will include:
1. Facilitating the maintenance of accurate and up to date financial and accounting records to ensure the effective running of the charity
2. Managing the Finance Assistant and provide support with all finance related queries
3. Developing and delivering financial performance information to assist the senior Managerership team and Trustees in the running of the charity, providing valuable financial insights to help make better decisions about formulating and executing the charity's strategy
4. Supporting the securing of income opportunities by providing financial information for bids, grants, and applications
5. Creating and implementing templates to enable the team to provide accurate financial information for submitting bids, quotes and applications and high-level security within the systems to uphold client confidentiality
6. Working with the programme manager and the senior Managerership team to ensure the effective management of funds
7. Assist in the business planning and annual budgeting processs for approval by the CEO and Finance Sub Committee
8. Managing the year-end audit by liaising and engaging with the external auditor
9. Processing cash-flow forecast, payroll and pensions monthly
10. Produce accurate monthly and quarterly Management Accounts including commentary on significant areas and variances from budgets
11. Complete monthly VAT and Year End returns
About you
As Finance Manager, you must be detail-oriented yet also able to see the big picture and eager to understand the business and its various stakeholders as a whole, to participate in strategic decision making for the charity.
Essential experience:
12. Analysis and production of accounts and reporting of financial data
13. Working with online accounting systems i.e. QuickBooks, Excel, MS Office
14. Restricted and Unrestricted funds
15. Dealing with auditors, overseeing SORPs and Charity Accounting
16. People management
17. Being a team player
To be successful for the role of Finance Manager you must have / be:
18. Demonstrable knowledge and experience of financial accounting
19. CIMA, ACCA or ACA or QBE
20. Excellent IT skills and a high proficiency in Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs etc
21. Able to thrive in a socially motivated environment
22. Excellent organisation skills with the ability to effectively manage varied tasks with competing priorities with minimum supervision

About the hours & rewards
For the role of Finance Manager there is an excellent salary on offer of £38,000 to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus you will receive:
