Outline of the role
As a Site Agent you are involved with the successful delivery of projects, working alongside Senior Management team. Initiating continuous improvements to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget.
Project outline
As part of the Living Water Enterprise Farrans currently have project sites in the North East. These are all part of AMP8 which will see awards of work covering over 12 years, works for Farrans have already commenced.
The North East which sees the improvement of the underground network of water pipes, constructing a new 34km Steel welded, 800mm diameter pipeline, crossing underneath the River Tees and Alwent Beck to a depth of 50 metres. Around 200,000 customers will benefit from this work.
The first project you would be undertaking would be at Scripton Bridge Near Brandon, County Durham - Flow control, Construction of flow control valve and flow meter on existing 33" live water main. Works include 2 x under pressure connections and 4-line stops. Construction of 600mm bypass main and construction of reinforced concrete valve / flowmeter chamber.
As a Site Agent you will be responsible for:
·Management and supervision of direct labour and sub-contractors.
·Assist in managing systems to enable the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions and quantity.
·Assist in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork etc.
·Provide engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.
·Responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances.
·Regularly check the setting out points and benchmarks and checking that all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate and recorded accordingly.
·Ensures workforce understand setting out information has been identified as suitable for the type of work being carried out.
·Responsible for providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control, to ensure accurate construction of the work.
·Take a proactive approach to managing Health and Safety on site.
·Co-ordinate and supervise temporary works as required.
·Implement a regime of test and inspection plans for all works on site.
·Coordinating, planning and scheduling works in conjunction with client, local authority, and back-office staff.
·Attendance at client, stakeholder and internal meetings representing the best interests of Farrans and compliance with contractual requirements.
·Measuring of works and ensuring accurate submission of records to ensure timely payment by client and to the supply chain.
·Effective monitoring of commercial performance of work streams and supply chain in conjunction with the project commercial team.

Your required Skills and Experience
·Experience of Site Supervision of Engineering teams and sub-contractors.
·Ability to build strong working relationships with the Engineering team and sub-contractors.
·Knowledge of contract requirements, correct specifications, and standards to ensure the highest quality of work presented to the client.
·Excellent communication skills and able to engage with stakeholders at varying levels.
·Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise.
·Hold a full driving license and have access to a vehicle.
·Educated to degree level in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
·An appropriate and valid CSCS/CSR card.
·First Aid at Work.
Working hours are as follows;
Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 17:30 Friday - 07:30 - 16:30
Saturdays rota every 1 in 5 – 7.30-14.00.
