Purpose & Scope of the Role
As a key member of our technical delivery team, you will support maritime team leaders in delivering high‑quality design services across the ports and maritime sectors. Your responsibilities include concept, preliminary, and detailed design of civil and maritime infrastructure, production of design drawings and technical reports, contract administration, site inspections, and structural condition assessments.

Technical Competence
Strong foundation in civil and structural engineering principles, proficiency with industry‑standard design software and Eurocodes, familiarity with CAD tools and Microsoft Office, and proactive, adaptable mindset.
Problem Solving & Quality Assurance
Attention to detail and analytical thinking. Assess complex engineering problems, develop practical solutions, work independently while taking direction from senior engineers, and contribute to quality assurance ensuring deliverables meet highest standards.
Team Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with colleagues across multiple disciplines, prepare clear engineering reports, communicate technical information to technical and non‑technical audiences, and foster positive working relationships.
Mandatory Training & Qualification Requirements
* MEng or BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
Beneficial Training, Qualifications, or Equivalent Work Experience
* Progress toward Chartered status
* Experience in maritime or civil infrastructure projects
* Familiarity with BIM processes and 3D modelling tools
Work Patterns and Locations
The position is based in a large, permanently desked office located on the edge of the city with on‑site parking, strong public transport connections and easy access to major road networks. The role supports hybrid working, with an expectation of two to three days per week in the office to facilitate mentoring, collaboration and team coordination. Flexible working arrangements can be accommodated where project responsibilities allow.
