Role: Head of Business Development
Location: The Portland Hospital-London
Hours: 37.5hrs pw, Monday - Friday
Salary: Competitive dependent on skills & experience plus annual bonus
Great opportunity for a Head of Business Development at The Portland Hospital.
The Head of Business Development will be responsible for the delivery of substantial revenue growth in line with the hospital’s strategic objectives, through the design and implementation of an appropriate business development plan and operational management of key functions that ultimately support growth.
The Head of Business Development at the Portland Hospital has operational and senior management responsibilities for departments including Consultant Liaison / Business Development, Marketing and Events.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Reporting to the CEO, this role will be accountable to, and directly interface with, The Portland Hospital CEO and the senior management team to agree, shape and execute the hospital development strategy and ensure it is aligned to the wider HCA UK growth strategy.
2. The role will lead the provision of first class ‘on the ground’ business development and consultant liaison support, championing the delivery of set strategies. The job holder must be experienced at a senior level in stakeholder management and able to work effectively with cross functional teams whether or not the post holder has direct influence.
3. To secure new customers from all sectors and gain market share for HCA.
4. To create and implement an annual sales and marketing plan linked to revenue generation targets, with key objectives and tactics for each core customer group.
5. To work closely with the other hospitals’ and Corporate HCA departments as appropriate to ensure alignment of sales activity with the rest of the business
6. To maximize the growth opportunities for the hospital and wider HCA Group
7. To maintain positive business relationships with HCA’s key stakeholders including consultants
8. To comply with H & S policies of HCA International, including personal responsibility for the safety of yourself and your teams.
9. To liaise closely with Legal, Finance, and administrative teams to ensure compliance with HCA policies and procedures and government regulations
Skills & Experience:
10. Minimum 5 years of business development / stakeholder management experience
11. Minimum 5 years of operational / people management experience
12. Must have experience at ‘Senior’ Manager level and have been a senior SME to SMT level
13. Clinical experience / management of clinical departments valuable but not essential
14. Educated to Degree Level or equivalent relevant experience
15. Ideally an MBA / Master’s degree in Business or Communications/Marketing
