Job Description
Role Purpose
The team requires an experienced Oracle Application DBA to assist in transferring the Oracle database to Cloud SQL. The DBA should have experience understanding Oracle schemas, stored procedures/functions, and proprietary features of Oracle RDBMS. Ideally, the candidate should also have experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL. The DBA will identify and rectify SQL query performance issues encountered during the transition.
Mandatory Skills:
* Oracle to Postgres DB migration
* Postgres DB activities such as creation, schemas, users, roles, permissions
* Experience with PL/PGSQL
* Assisting in migrating Oracle DB to Cloud
Additional skills include:
* Knowledge of GCP environment
* Experience with Postgres databases in GCP
* Database Backup and Restore using psql, PgAdmin, DBeaver
* Understanding PITR and High Availability
* Experience with tools like PgAdmin, DBeaver
* Writing database objects in PL/PgSQL
* Understanding Postgres architecture
* Managing database roles, users, permissions
* Managing database objects like tables, views, triggers, functions
* Experience with Gitlab, JIRA, Confluence, Miro
* Oracle knowledge for data migration
* Experience with Data Migration Services (DMS)
Good to have:
* Experience in GCP/AWS
* Knowledge of Data Validation Tools (DVT)
* Documentation skills using Confluence
Deliverables
Operational excellence, knowledge management, customer satisfaction, risk mitigation, timely project delivery, and adherence to SLAs.
Experience
Oracle Database Administrator with 8-10 years of experience.
