An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well-motivated professional to specialise in palliative and end-of-life care within our specialist unit.
As the Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for the Clinical Operational Management of the inpatient unit, providing specialist palliative care for patients admitted to St Luke's Specialist In-patient Unit.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team, providing specialist care to patients and families. Supporting education, audit, and research to influence the delivery of high-quality care and identify innovative ways of working to improve and develop the service offered.
As the Clinical Lead for the IPU, you will be based within the inpatient unit but will work collaboratively with other clinical leads across the organization, providing leadership advice as needed to support various areas.
Our IPU team takes pride in delivering palliative and end-of-life care of the highest standard for patients with complex care needs, alleviating pain and preserving dignity. The IPU maintains an excellent nurse-to-patient ratio, typically 1:3, to uphold this standard of care.
While the position is challenging, it is also highly rewarding. You will be part of a supportive team working in a positive environment where all staff and volunteers are valued. Internal rotation to night and weekend shifts will be a requirement of the post.
In return, you will benefit from excellent opportunities to develop your skills and maintain your membership in the NHS Pension Scheme if you are an existing member.
