* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field such as computer networking, information security or equivalent practical experience.
* 5 years of experience in security engineering, DevSecOps, or platform engineering roles.
* Experience with deployment and orchestration technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, OpenStack, Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, Jenkins).
* Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration, or networking and debugging/troubleshooting.
* United Kingdom Security Vetting Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.

* Experience designing, building, and deploying cloud-based solution architectures.
* Experience with standard IT security practices (such as encryption, certificates, key management and use of HSMs or other specialist security equipment).
* Ability to execute in a customer-focused environment and advocate for partners and customers in a cross-functional organization.
* Ability to work on a team to design processes, implement projects that solve business problems, and lead or work with cross-functional groups.
About The Job
Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities
* Build, configure and deploy new compute, network, storage and specialist security infrastructure, ensuring correct configuration and bring into service in line with standard playbooks from Google product teams
* Resolve profile escalations and issues, improve the customer experience, and drive initiatives.
* Manage the health and performance of the environment using observability tools, carrying out maintenance and updates to roll out new features and keep the platform secure.
* Participate in a 24/7, on-call rotation for incident response escalation within response and on-site Service Level Agreements (SLA).
* Provide technical implementation support in customer environments, including guidance on implementation feasibility of cross-product integrations.
