The Role
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Leader of Religion, Values and Ethics who will lead the subject area and ensure that students achieve outstanding outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious teacher to take a leading role in shaping high-quality teaching and learning within the subject and contributing to the continued success of the school.
The successful candidate will work with colleagues to ensure that learning in RVE is engaging, challenging and inclusive, enabling students to think creatively and develop confidence in their understanding of religion, values and ethics. The role includes leading the development of the curriculum in line with the Curriculum for Wales, monitoring student progress and supporting colleagues to maintain consistently high standards of teaching and learning across the subject area.
You will play a key role in raising aspirations and supporting all students to achieve their full potential as the school continues its journey towards excellence.
What We’re Looking For
1. Qualified Teacher Status and graduate-level qualification
2. Evidence of being a strong classroom practitioner
3. Experience of monitoring student progress and supporting high-quality teaching and learning
4. Strong subject knowledge up to A Level and understanding of assessment across Key Stages 3–5
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
6. Ability to motivate students and promote a positive attitude towards learning
7. Commitment to continuous professional development and collaborative working
8. Enthusiasm for teaching Religion, Values and Ethics and supporting young people to succeed
