What You’ll Do
Lead the drafting of high‑quality bid responses across the full bid lifecycle
Interpret tender documentation and translate requirements into clear, structured, compliant content
Work closely with subject matter experts to extract, shape, and synthesise technical input
Develop and embed clear win themes and key messages throughout responses
Review and edit contributions from multiple authors to ensure a consistent “single voice”
Manage deadlines, version control, and submission requirements under tight timelines
Contribute to and maintain a library of reusable content, case studies, and evidence
What We’re Looking For
Proven bid writing experience (c.5+ years), ideally within UK public sector or education markets
Demonstrable experience of DfE or education‑sector bids, including complex, multi‑part submissions
Strong written communication skills with the ability to articulate solutions clearly and persuasively
Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high‑quality work under deadline pressure
Experience interpreting complex specifications and translating them into structured responses
Strong stakeholder management skills, working effectively with SMEs, partners and bid leads
Comfortable working remotely within distributed, fast‑paced bid teams
Desirable Experience
Knowledge of public sector procurement routes (e.g. frameworks, DPS, DfE procurement structures)
Experience contributing to or leading structured review processes (e.g. red team reviews)
Familiarity with social value, EDI and sustainability requirements in public sector bids
Ability to produce supporting visuals (e.g. process diagrams, delivery models, theory of change)
Experience using tools such as InDesign or PowerPoint for bid production
APMP certification (Foundation or Practitioner) or equivalent professional training
Familiarity with AI tools (e.g. Copilot) to support drafting and synthesis
Awareness of current DfE policy priorities and programme architectures
