Emotional and Mental Health Support Worker
Are you an individual who is passionate about supporting children with their mental health needs? A really rewarding position has become available for an Emotional and Mental Health support worker to work in a school in Wokingham. This is an excellent position to gain valuable experience whilst also making a huge difference to the lives of vulnerable children.
These students struggle with trauma, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD and various other mood disorders. These young people need someone who can facilitate a positive and safe environment for them to learn and grow. As a mental health assistant you will directly be involved in helping children manage and cope with their emotions and mental health.
Responsibilities
* Support and shadow the class teacher, whilst providing 1:1 support for the SEN students.
* Help run engaging lessons to ensure the classroom is a fun and safe place for learning.
* Behavioural management may also be required.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience working with vulnerable children is desirable but not essential.
* Those with a background in sports, art or drama will have an advantage. Graduates in a relevant field will also be considered.
* The role suits someone who is resilient and confident in supporting young people with challenging mental health needs.
