This position is embedded directly within a high tech defence manufacturing environment, supporting live production and ensuring materials are exactly where they need to be, when they need to be there.
Our client, a long standing partner to the UK Ministry of Defence, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Controller (Lineside focused) to support production delivery at their Bolton site.
What youll be doing Working directly on the production line, loading and controlling work packages to meet manufacturing schedules
Managing line side inventory, stock accuracy and shelf life controlled materials
Kitting and issuing components to manufacturing cells in line with lead times and cycle plans
Using ERP systems (e.g. SAP) to maintain accurate records and support production flow
Applying lean principles such as Kanban and two bin systems to prevent shortages
Supporting packing activities, tooling issue/return and safe movement of materials
This role is ideal for you if you have Experience in lineside manufacturing control, production support or stores within a manufacturing or aerospace/defence environment
A strong understanding of stock control, kitting and production flow
Confidence working independently in a structured, process driven environment
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving
Note: This is not a general warehousing role. Experience must be within a production aligned or lineside environment.
Desirable (but not essential at advert stage) SAP or similar ERP experience
FLT licence
ESD, manual handling, lifting & slinging training
Experience using Kanban or two bin replenishment systems

This job is at our client's site in Bolton facility, one of the North West's leading manufacturing sites for at least 25 years. The facility offers showers and bike racks and is near the motorway, with a petrol station outside. Amenities like an onsite canteen.
