Overview
Senior Principal Civil Engineer - Hydropower and Dams role at Stantec. This is a senior leadership position focused on hydropower and dam projects. Based in the UK, this role involves leading design and development of cutting-edge dams, hydropower, and pumped storage solutions, and supporting UK water companies with inspections, remediation, and dam/reservoir development.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, and clients to achieve positive project outcomes.
* Engage in advisory roles including Owner’s Engineer duties, client-facing concept design, contractor-facing detailed design, remediation, troubleshooting, installation support, and Lender’s Engineer/insurance/due diligence support.

About You
You will be a Senior Principal Civil Engineer who is, ideally, Chartered or Incorporated with the ICE or working towards this, with experience in the civil design of at least one of the following:
* Dams (or dam components)
* Hydro and/or pumped storage hydro schemes
* Design and assessment of complex hydraulic structures (channels, culverts, bridges, spillways, stilling basins)
Ideally you will have significant civil engineering experience in the dams and hydro sector. You should understand how the various disciplines within the sector come together to create an integrated solution. You will be experienced in producing technical specifications, designs, and reports, integrating closely with structures, geotechnical and M&E disciplines, and ideally with experience in designs for both end-user clients and D&B contractors. Comfortable working in a full 3D environment using appropriate tools to sketch and review models within a common data environment.
