Alexander Daniels have partnered with a market-leading manufacturing business based in Leicester to recruit a Financial Controller on a full-time, permanent basis.
As the business continues to grow and modernise, they are seeking an experienced and hands-on Financial Controller to join the senior leadership team.
This is a pivotal role responsible for leading the finance function, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and the development of scalable financial processes. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll work closely with the wider leadership team to support strategic decision-making and drive business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the finance function, overseeing a team of two.
* Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK GAAP.
* Develop and implement financial policies, controls, and procedures aligned to business growth and governance needs.
* Prepare and present monthly management accounts, forecasts, and financial insights to the MD and leadership team.
* Drive budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and corrective recommendations.
* Oversee cashflow management and working capital optimisation.
* Ensure compliance with statutory reporting, tax obligations, and ESG commitments, working with third-party partners.
* Act as a key business partner to the MD and department heads, providing commercial insight and financial challenge.
* Identify and deliver process improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices within the finance function.
About You:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
* Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager in manufacturing or engineering, ideally within a subsidiary of a larger group.
* Strong commercial acumen and a proactive, hands-on approach.
* Demonstrated success in process improvement, financial control, and operational efficiency within an ERP environment.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence to operate at senior leadership level.
