About PAE
At PAE, we keep the world working and moving – from military camps to Antarctica. As one of New Zealand’s largest providers of facilities management services, we’re proud to support essential operations for customers like the NZ Defence Force and the United States Antarctic Program. Our work is varied, vital, and quietly crucial – just how we like it.
Up for a role that’s a little bit different?
We’re on the lookout for a reliable, hands-on Extreme Cold Weather Supply Assistant to join our seasonal Antarctic Support team. This is a fixed-term role supporting the US Antarctic Program (USAP), based at Christchurch Airport.
You’ll help kit out USAP participants for the extreme Antarctic climate, issuing and sorting cold weather clothing and gear. You’ll also assist with transporting passengers and freight from the terminal and contribute to general warehouse operations. If you're a team player with an eye for detail, this is your kind of role.
In this role, you’ll:
* Pack, issue, and sort specialist Antarctic clothing
* Support logistics for flights, passengers, and gear
* Assist with warehousing and inventory duties
* Work Monday to Friday, 7.30am–4.00pm (with some weekend/evening shifts during peak periods)
Why you?
You’re practical, organised, and calm under pressure. You like structure but can flex when needed, and you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves. You work well in a team, have a great eye for detail, and take pride in getting the job done right.
To be considered, you must:
* Be available to start on 15 September 2025
* Hold a full, clean NZ Class 1 Driver’s Licence
* Be a NZ citizen, resident, or hold a valid work visa
* Be able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol test
* Successfully complete a US Government background investigation (including reference and security checks for an Airport Identity Card)
What makes this role one of a kind?
This isn’t your standard warehouse role – you’ll be part of something bigger. Supporting Antarctic operations means being part of an internationally recognised mission, alongside a team that’s passionate, down-to-earth, and thrives in unique environments.
